Dr. Christine has been practicing Naturopathic Medicine since 1997.  The successful treatment of her patients includes the use of IV Nutrition and Ozone Therapy, Botanical Medicine, Nutrition and Supplementation, Detoxification, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Bioscan, the Original Bowen Technique, Kundalini Yoga and Transformational Mindset Coaching.  Her extensive training in, and passion for, the Bowen Technique lead her to create, and teach, a Certificate Program for Mount Royal University.

 

She has extensive successful clinical experience and is sought out for her expertise in the areas of Autoimmune Disorders, Mystery Illnesses, Integrative Cancer, Anxiety and Depression; being referred to by her colleagues and peers within the Conventional and Naturopathic medical fields.

When asked about career highlights, Dr. Christine shares that, “Teaching The Bowen Technique for 5 years, 2 of which were with MRU, is  one of my highlights. I love teaching and Bowen is such an amazing soft tissue technique that I’ve always been fascinated and awed by. My first treatment was 31 years ago when my ND in Ontario worked on my lower back for pain that I was having.   I left the office without pain afterwards and it has never returned. I knew after that session it would be a technique I had to learn. With teaching being so rewarding I found a great love for helping my students and seeing them grow their skills with Bowen too.  I feel so blessed to help others return to health in the way I have with this therapy.”

Hi there, my name is Eric. I’m a Master’s Level Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association.

 

My Master’s degree (MS) is in Clinical Mental Health Counselling and I hold a Bachelor's degree (BS)  in Psychology.

 

I have over nine years of experience in the counseling field in both Canada and the US. I’ve worked in inpatient and outpatient settings which have given me many experiences, learning, and personal growth.

As human beings, I believe that connection is paramount. I join with others in an empathic, genuine, and nonjudgemental way.

 

I often collaborate with those needing help with trauma, addiction, anxiety, relationship concerns, stress, and depression. I see therapy as requiring a holistic touch as there are many avenues to healing.

My goal is to be client-centered and eclectic with my therapy approach. Using a screwdriver to hammer in a nail doesn’t often work! YOGA

I first came to yoga almost two decades ago on the recommendation of an acting teacher who suggested it as a way to improve breath control.  

 

Once I immersed myself in the practice of yoga I fell in love with it.  For me yoga is the one thing that helps me experience a true sense of calm and that is what keeps me coming back to my mat.  My approach to yoga is a result of my deep reverence for both tradition, and the insights of western alignment.

 

Between traditional training in hatha yoga in Mysore India, and western style training here in Calgary, I have completed over 500 hours of teacher training. I like to teach foundational yoga poses in a slow and controlled way that helps practitioners build strength and flexibility and connect to the present moment and the experience of being in their body. Having fun on the mat is always essential!

Chelsey Petruik is a seasoned social worker with a deep-rooted passion for helping others heal. With over 18 years of experience in the field of Human Services, Chelsey has honed her skills in various counselling and support roles. Chelsey attains a Master of Social Work from the University of Calgary specializing in clinical trauma-informed practice.
